CS615A -- Aspects of System Administration - HW#N
HW#N: Attend a relevant Meetup/Talk/community event
System Administrators constantly need to keep up with new technologies and development. One way to do this is to participate in the local tech community. New York City and the surrounding area has a vibrant tech scene with countless meetups and events and offers unparalleled opportunity to learn.
This "assignment" requires you to attend at least one tech event or meetup that is related to the profession of System Administration. Please identify a suitable meetup yourself, but check with your instructor prior to attending to make sure you can claim credit for it.
This assignment is worth 25 points.
Deliverables and Due Date
The deliverable for this assignment is a brief summary of the event, how the topic is related to this class, why you chose it, what you learned etc. You are to send this write-up to the class mailing list together with any relevant links. The write-up should be sent out within a week after attending the meetup (for example, do not wait until the end of the semester to send your report if you're attending a meetup in Feburary).
If you are taking pictures at the event or wish to share any other larger documents, please make them available on your personal course website (e.g. under https://www.cs.stevens.edu/~your-username/CS615/.
You may complete this assignment at any time during the semester prior to 2020-05-07 10:00. It is recommended for you to plan on finding a suitable meetup early on in the semester.
You may choose to attend a meetup together with other classmates. If you do that, please make sure to notify the instructor of who is attending the meetup together in advance; then, write your report together as well. We do not need multiple individual reports with the same content from the same event.
